Sanitary Sewer Design & Modeling with SewerGEMS

Abstract
This SewerGEMS training course includes discussions and hands-on workshops on capacity analysis, rehabilitation, new system design, and master planning for wastewater collection systems. Students complete hands-on exercises using SewerGEMS software, a new dynamic analysis tool that runs directly within the GIS environment. Both steady-state and extended-period simulations (through time) are presented, as well as gravity and pressure system components. Attendees learn to customize plan and profile sheets, tabular reports and sanitary and wet-weather loadings. Exercises will apply SewerGEMS tools to leverage existing GIS and database information to build models and populate loadings.

The first day of this course covers Capacity, Management, Operation, and Management (CMOM) requirements. The last two days focus exclusively on SewerGEMS training.

Benefits
This course enables those involved in capacity analysis, CMOM regulations, system rehabilitation, infiltration & inflow studies, and new design to use SewerGEMS to complete their daily tasks much more efficiently. Attendees will be able to better produce customized profiles, tables, GIS maps, and cost estimates for presenting and reviewing model results.

Prerequisites
Understanding of basic hydraulics.
