Water Distribution Design & Modeling - Standard Course

Abstract
The standard water distribution training course begins with the basics of hydraulics theory as it applies to water distribution modeling, then takes students through more advanced topics such as working with multiple scenarios, model calibration, pump selection, energy cost studies, extended-period simulation, fire flow analysis, and water quality analysis.

Students become familiar with WaterCAD, and use the software to reinforce concepts with workshop problems. Software training will cover all of the major WaterCAD interface features including layout, scenario management, color coding, graphing and custom reporting. Hydraulic transient analysis concepts are also introduced. All material and software training in this course also applies to WaterGEMS users.

Benefits
Attendees will learn the basic principals of water distribution modeling, gaining essential knowledge for water system design and operation. This course also includes comprehensive software training via hands-on exercises in which attendees apply the WaterCAD (and WaterGEMS) models to solve common water distribution system problems.

Prerequisites
Understanding of basic hydraulics.

Products Covered
WaterCAD, WaterGEMS
